Materials

The way we package it.

Skincare packaging is mostly bad. Plastic primary bottles, plastic over-caps, plastic shrink wrap. We chose differently from the first batch. Below is exactly what we use, why, and what it costs us.

Primary bottle

30 ml amber glass apothecary dropper. Amber glass blocks UV light, which protects the peptide payload from oxidative degradation. Glass adds 8–10% to our per-unit cost vs. PET. We do it anyway. Recyclable 100% in any glass stream.

Dropper / applicator

Matte black phenolic resin cap with a glass pipette inside. The pipette is glass; the bulb is medical-grade silicone. Both are fully separable from the cap for clean recycling. OCTAVE 05 ships with a precision-tip applicator instead of a dropper — same material composition.

Outer box

FSC-certified uncoated paperboard, embossed wordmark, soy-based ink. Compostable in EU industrial streams; recyclable in any paper stream. No foil, no plastic window, no laminate.

Box insert

A single folded card explaining how to use the product, printed on the same FSC paper. The QR code linking to the batch report is printed, not stickered. No leaflet to throw away.

Outer shipper

Recycled corrugated cardboard, kraft paper void fill, paper-based tape. No plastic, no foam, no air pillows.

Tape and labels

Water-activated kraft paper tape sealing the shipper. Labels on the bottle are uncoated cream paper with a vegetable-based adhesive that comes off cleanly in warm water (so the bottle goes into the glass recycling stream label-free).

What we don't use

  • No PET, no HDPE, no LDPE.
  • No plastic shrink wrap or seals.
  • No foil-lined paper.
  • No tamper-evidence sticker that has to be peeled off and binned.

Return-and-refill

From Q4 2026, every shipment includes a postage-paid envelope to return the empty amber bottles. We clean, sterilise, and refill them in the same factory. €2 credit per returned bottle on your next order.
